Beth Roberts is the Secretary/Clerk for East Sparta Church of God. She is an administrative assistant to Pastor Dotson in the ministry.
Phillip Hensley and his wife, Christy, have been active laborers in church for many years serving in a variety of capacities including Sunday School teachers; Sunday School Superintendent; Choir member; Christmas Program Director; VBS teacher, coordinator, and planner. Both have a burden to be active in church and carry out the Lord’s will for their lives which includes working, helping, ministering, and serving as Youth Pastor at East Sparta. Having a tremendous burden for young people and receiving a call from God; Phillip has been involved with youth ministry with Fellowship of Christian Athletes (FCA). This has afforded him the opportunity to minister to youth in the Middle and High School ages on a regular basis as well as facilitate and take part in summer youth camps. Phillip received his bachelor’s degree from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville and his MBA from the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga.
MINISTER OF MUSIC
Caleb Shuler is from Hartsville, SC. He completed his undergraduate degree in Vocal Music Education in his hometown of Hartsville at Coker University. He joined our ministry team as Minister of Music in August 2019. He is currently finishing his Master of Music degree in Church Music at Lee University projected to graduate in May of 2020. In addition to college experience in choirs & instrumental ensembles, Caleb has directed church and community choirs. Having experienced and participated in a variety of cultural music styles, including Hispanic and African worship, Caleb strives to bring diversity to the music presented at East Sparta. He has always been and continues to be drawn to worship through music.
Patsy Roberts is responsible for assisting East Sparta Church of God in planning, implementing, and evaluating educational programs & curriculum.
Betty Turner oversees all aspects of our Ladies Ministry at East Sparta Church of God. She also coordinates our weekly meal on Wednesday evenings before our midweek Worship Service.
Don Brummette oversees all aspects of our Men's Ministry at East Sparta Church of God.
SENIOR ADULT MINISTRY
Melissa Buck leads our Senior Adult Ministry at East Sparta Church of God for those 50-years old and above.
LOVE IN ACTION - HELPS
Ann Womack is one of our Love in Action Coordinators that helps meet the spiritual & physical needs of those in the church and community.
LOVE IN ACTION - FOOD/CLOTHING
Nancy Sobianek is one of our Love in Action Coordinators that helps meet the spiritual & physical needs of those in the church and community.
Janice Bumbalough is our church Hostess at East Sparta Church of God. Her smiling face is one of the first you will see when coming through the doors.
Larry Hall leads our Usher Team at East Sparta Church of God. His team is responsible for collecting the offering, assisting in altar ministry, and providing a safe worship experience.
Sarah Hickerson leads our Mission Fit ministry at East Sparta Church of God. She coordinates various physical fitness activities at our Family Life Center throughout the month.
BIBLE STUDY COORDINATOR/BIBLE CLASS LEADER
Mary Lawson is a faithful member of East Sparta Church of God. She has dedicated the past 46 years to the church, where she has taught for 45 years and served in many other various capacities.
Bible Study Coordinator: She coordinates the Wednesday night adult classes which is a 12 member teaching team. As Coordinator, she selects the study materials and assigns the teachers on a rotation basis.
Tuesday Bible Class Leader: Mary leads a Bible Class that meets each Tuesday from 10:00 - 11:30. It is open forum for men and women of all ages. Class consist of sharing prayer request, prayer and scripture study.
LITTLE BLESSINGS PRESCHOOL ADMINISTRATOR/TEACHER
Haley Tollison is the Administrator for our Little Blessings Preschool at East Sparta Church of God. She makes sure that Little Blessings is a place where children are encouraged to grow and to learn within a safe and nurturing Christian environment.
